Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend January 7, 2006 Central Point residents jailed after drug raid nets meth, pot Two Central Point residents remained in jail on drug charges Friday after Medford’s Gang and Street Drug Unit seized marijuana and methamphetamine from their home on Thursday. Seven pounds of marijuana and one-fourth of an ounce of methamphetamine were confiscated from the home in the 1000 block of Dillon Way, said Medford police Lt. Tim George. Joseph Leland Emery, 41, and Kelly Lynn Emery, 40, were lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of delivery, manufacturing and possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. In addition, the couple were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor. They were being held on $79,000 bail. George said the marijuana was processed and ready for sale. Scales for both drugs also were found inside the residence, along with $2,500 and three guns. The serial number had been filed off one of the guns, George said. He said police are attempting to track them back to a source. Two children, ages 3 and 10, were removed from the home and placed in temporary care by the Oregon Department of Human Services, George said. George said he was happy with the new year’s first substantial drug bust. "Seven pounds of marijuana is a pretty good chunk," he said. "Anytime we can take action against folks who are selling methamphetamine and marijuana and remove children who are exposed to that is a good thing."
