Two thin blonde women in their early 20s reportedly broke into a home in the 200 block of Pine Street around 2:40 p.m. Monday , Rogue River police posted on their Facebook page. Rogue River Police Chief Ken Lewis said a man recently bought the home and had been remodeling it for his parents, who plan to move to the area when it's complete. However, the home isn't occupied full time yet . The two women stole a flat-screen television and a computer monitor and were loading the stolen goods into a gold Toyota Camry when two women who know the new owner spotted them, Rogue River police said. The owner's friends tried to stop the two suspects, who jumped into the Camry and backed out of the driveway at a high speed. The car struck one of the women during the escape, though it wasn't severe, police said. "As the vehicle made contact with her, she kind of jumped," Lewis said, adding she sat on the trunk for a few seconds as the vehicle pulled away. "T hey just burned out of reverse from the driveway onto Pine Street." Lewis said the assault with the vehicle changes the crime from a burglary to a robbery. The value of the stolen television and the older model computer were not available, though police said they don't think it's very high. A gold Camry was stopped at a Chevron gas station in downtown, but it turned out to be the wrong car, police said.
