Police hunt for armed suspect in homicide

Medford police are hunting for an armed man they believe shot a woman dead Friday afternoon in the 3000 block of Arrowhead Drive. Callers reported hearing several gunshots at about 2:30 p.m. and seeing a man fleeing the location, according to a police release. Officers found an adult female dead of multiple gunshot wounds inside the apartment. Her name is not being released until next of kin are notified. The motive and events leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Police believe the suspect is Jesse Allen, 20, described as white, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes and possibly a shaved head. In addition to several tattoos on both arms, the letters TVS are tattooed in block lettering on his neck. He is believed to be driving a white 2013 Toyota Corolla with tinted windows, bearing Oregon license plate 431 KWV. Anyone with information regarding Allen’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately. "Do not confront Allen as he is considered armed and dangerous," the release said. The Medford Police Department is being assisted in this investigation by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab.
