He was born February 19, 1962 in Medford, Ore. to his parents, Charles "Chuck" and Marlene Hoyt (Smith). Donnie graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1980 and Linfield College in 1984. He was employed by Bowers Trucking as a Transportation Specialist, who became his second family. Donnie was an avid sports fan which included coaching his only son, Kevin Charles Hoyt, the light of his life in Little League baseball and Babe Ruth. He had an indescribable love for the New England Patriots (Tom Brady!!), the Oregon Ducks, and NASCAR. After many years of being apart, God brought Donnie and his high school sweetheart back together again. Donnie married Colleen Brown August 4, 2007, the true love of his life. He had an extremely close relationship with his step-children, Derek and Kristin Brown, who lovingly nicknamed him "Steppie." Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; son, Kevin; step-children. Derek and Kristin; his mother, Marlene; sister, Charla (Craig) Combs; mother and father-in-law, Joann and Chuck Connell; brother-in-law, Douglas Schneider; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Chuck" Hoyt." In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Addictions Recovery Center, 1003 W. Main St., Medford, Ore. 97501.
