October 09. 2014 2:10PM Ashland event will help people prepare for emergencies Ashland Fire and Rescue's second annual emergency preparedness event will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. The day will consist of two 3-hour workshops, held 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees will learn about emergency preparedness and see presentations on earthquakes, fires, floods and other weather-related emergencies. Participants will take home an emergency kit with supplies that include water, a first-aid kit, food bars, flashlight, towelettes and a survival blanket. Registration costs $10 per person.
