An interesting program has been prepared and an effort will be made to render this one of its most progressive and profitable conclaves. This club was organized primarily for the improvement of teachers in southern Oregon in the matter of general and detail work in their profession in this particular field. Its members are pleased with its work and its effects in this respect, so far, and are planning to make it more serviceable in the future. The program for the meeting in this city Saturday next follows: 10:30 a.m., opening remarks, Superintendent George Briscoe, Ashland. "Agriculture in Rogue Valley Schools," Superintendent Daniel Hall, Grants Pass. General discussion. 11:15 — "County Spelling Contests," Superintendent J. Perey Wells, Jackson county. General discussion. 12:00 p.m.—Luncheon. 1:30 — Business. Address, F. E. Moore, principal Ashland high school. General discussion. 2:15 — Address, Dr. De Bush, department of education, University of Oregon. Professor Root, the violinist, will furnish the music for that occasion. LOCAL AND PERSONAL Farmers and others in the upper part of the valley have assured the Ashland papers that they are behind the movement to hold a poultry show in Medford at an early date. It is that spirit that will make the proposed exhibit and its accompanying instruction a big thing; not only for the farmers who engage more extensively in poultry raising, but for the valley generally. Charley Mundy of Cottage Grove, this state, is tarrying in this city a few days this week, on his return home from San Diego. Mr. Mundy purchased a business in San Diego, intending to make his home there, but the business, it was discovered, couldn't be delivered to him at the time specified, so he dropped it. He will return to Rogue river valley in the spring and probably remain here.
