She was born June 1, 1931 to Charles and Theresa Hill in Brooklyn, N.Y. Jean and her mother moved to Medford, Ore., where her mother remarried and gave her two sisters, Millicent and Keri. Jean later met and married Howard Kusel. They had five ornery boys, Bill, David, John, Mike, and Jerry, and one even more ornery girl, Karen. Howard and Jean both worked in the fruit industry. Jean worked at Harry and David until the age of 79. She loved packing pears and working with the roses, but most of all, she enjoyed the many friends she made there. Jean and Howard were members of the Eagles Club, she loved music and dancing. Jean is survived by her sons, Mike (Janice Snow) and John; her two sisters; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Howard; three sons, David, Jerry, and Bill; and daughter, Karen. I love you Mom, Mike. A graveside memorial officiated by Paul Hagedorn, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Logtown Cemetery, 5931 Highway 238, Jacksonville, Ore. between Jacksonville and Ruch. A potluck dinner will be held at nephew, Rick Kusel's home at 624 Sarma Dr., Shady Cove, Ore.
