Tips sought to find Yreka shooting suspect By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Mar 28, 2022 12:04 PM A A Police are asking for tips to help them track down a man with ties to Southern Oregon who is suspected of shooting a man in northern California. Trevor Wayne Patton, 42, is wanted by police in Yreka, California on charges accusing him of a Friday shooting that resulted in a 34-year-old man crashing into a tree, according to a Sunday Facebook post issued by the police department. Police discovered the shooting victim at the scene of the crash, according to a Yreka police. An officer rendered emergency aid until paramedics arrived on scene and transported him to Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka. As of Sunday morning, the shooting victim remains hospitalized in stable condition. Medford police shared Yreka Police Department’s post, saying that Patton “frequents the Medford area” and that “we’ve had a lot of contact with him over the years.” Jackson County Circuit Court records show that Patton has multiple felony convictions dating back to 2000, when he was convicted of first-degree burglary. Patton was last seen driving a blue Toyota RAV4 with an Oregon license plate and a storage box on its roof, according to Yreka police. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with knowledge of Patton’s whereabouts is asked to call Yreka police at 530-841-2300 and refer to case No. 22Y-00488.
