Beuford Marion Tuesday Mar 7, 2000 at 2:00 AM Dec 17, 2010 at 3:40 AM `Doc' Walker — The funeral for Beuford Marion Doc Walker will be at 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel, 2201 North Phoenix Road, Medford. Pastor Ed Keyes of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Medford will officiate. Mr. Walker, 76, of Central Point, died Friday (March 3, 2000) in Medford. He was born July 26, 1923, in Morris, Okla. In 1950, he married Margie Reynolds, who preceded him in death. In 1968, he married Betty West, who preceded him in death. He moved to the Rogue Valley 35 years ago from California. On Jan. 7, 1990, in Medford, he married Lucille Hill Elliott, who survives. Mr. Walker worked in the California oil fields, the logging industry and drove trucks both locally and long distance. He retired from Boise Cascade. He was a long-standing member of the Medford Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he served as an elder and deacon. Survivors include a son, Mike; two stepsons, Tommy Reynolds and Tom West; six stepdaughters, Vicki Utt, Kathy Peterson, Penny West, Shirley South, and Jeanette and Jeanenne Elliott; two sisters, Pauline and Illa, in California; two brothers, Jason and Carl, in California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde, and two sisters, Ruby and Beulah. Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary. — — Christi Jo House, 26, of Trail, died Wednesday (March 1, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. The memorial service was held Monday at the Upper Rogue Full Gospel Fellowship in Eagle Point. Pastor Will Boatwright officiated. Among her survivors is a son, Branden House, Klamath Falls; and her grandmother, Catherine McCoy, Boise, Idaho. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ina-mae Lindsay. Several names were wrong in an obituary Sunday because of incorrect information provided by the funeral home. — Mandy S. Bombardier — The memorial service for Mandy Sue Bombardier will be at — p.m. Wednesday at Trail Christian Fellowship. Pastor Ric Booye will officiate. Ms. Bombardier, 37, of White City, died Friday (March 3, 2000) at her home. She was born Mandy McFall on May 22, 1962, in Northridge, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1982 from Simi Valley, Calif. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, needlecrafts, outdoor activities and helping people in need. Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Bombardier, White City; her mother and stepfather, Susan and Ralph Sauerwald, Eagle Point; a brother, Michael McFall, Eagle Point; two sisters, Melissa McLoughlin and Melanie Sauerwald, both Eagle Point; and her grandmother, Dorothy Buck, Medford. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary McFall. Arrangements Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point. — Franklin E. Valentic — The memorial reception for Franklin Valentic will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Red Lion Hotel in Medford. Mr. Valentic, 47, of Portland, formerly of Ashland, died Friday (March 3, 2000) as a result of complications from a brain tumor. He was born Sept. 14, 1952, in Port Clinton, Ohio. He attended Palm Springs High School in California before moving to Oregon for his college education and doctorate. He was a chiropractor in the Rogue Valley from 1982 to 1991, when he left his practice for health reasons. Survivors include his wife, Judy Kerr-Valentic, Ashland; two sons, Mahlon and Austin, both Ashland; a daughter, Laura, Ashland; four brothers, Alson, John, George and Steve; and two sisters, Linda Valentic and Denysa Chacon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cedar Leanda Valentic; and his parents, George and Reva Valentic. Arrangements: Omega Funeral and Cremation Service, Portland. — Samuel A. Mirkovich — Samuel Adams Mirkovich, 83, of Gold Hill, died Dec. 30, 1999, at his home. No service is planned. He was born June 22, 1916, in Rapson, Colo. On May 13, 1938, in Denver, Colo., he married Helen Bokan, who preceded him in death. He was a 20-year resident of the Rogue Valley. Mr. Mirkovich was a retired executive of Pan American Airways and ALIA, the Royal Jordanian Airline. He traveled extensively and circled the globe twice. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, gardening and cooking. Survivors include two daughters, Dian Mirkovich, Medford, and Mariann Mirkovich, Gold Hill; a son, Thomas Reid, Henderson, Nev.; a sister, Millie Lewis, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Arrangements: Southern Oregon Cremation Services. — Elizabeth `Tuck' Eddy — The memorial service for Elizabeth Tuck Eddy will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park. Mrs. Eddy, 90, of Medford, died Feb. 27, 2000, at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504. She was born Elizabeth Tuckley on March 2, 1909, in Carbondale, Pa. On Sept. 15, 1933, in Irvington, N.J., she married Dr. Lester Eddy, who died in 1993. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Southern California in 1995. Mrs. Eddy was a watercolor artist and homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Shrider, Rogue River; a son, Dr. Richard Eddy, Medford; a sister, Edith Thompson, Stuart, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Tuckley; and a sister, Martha Van Houten. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home. — Chester H. Wright — The graveside service for Chester H. Wright will be at — p.m. today in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Mr. Wright, 78, of Medford, died Friday (March 3, 2000) at his home. On June 7, 1963, in Reno, Nev., he married Norma Proehl, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959 from Visalia, Calif. Mr. Wright was a mill worker at Medford Molding in White City, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Wright was a member of the Medford Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Douglas and Michael, both Medford, and Ronald, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Sandra Wright and Debra Turner, both Visalia, Calif.; three sisters, Virgie Longway, in northern Oregon, Joyce Franklin, in Texas, and Georgie Hatch, in Nebraska; a brother, Presley, in Texas; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A brother, Earl, preceded him in death. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford. — Mary May Ayres — The funeral for Mary May Ayres will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Central Valley Chapel. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park. Mrs. Ayres, 106, of Eagle Point, died Saturday (March 4, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born April 27, 1893, in Douglas County, Mo., a daughter of John and Lovy (Nelson) Trusty. She was raised on her parents' ranch in Elk Creek and lived in the Rogue Valley all her life. On Dec. 25, 1915, in Eagle Point, she married Amos Ayres, who died in 1964. She enjoyed making quilts and camping. Survivors include two sons, Clinton, Eagle Point, and Keith, Roseburg; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford; three sisters; and five brothers. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point. — Edgar Paup — Edgar Floyd Eddie Paup, 88, of Eugene, formerly of Medford, died Feb. 5, 2000, of age-related causes. A celebration of life was held Feb. 7. He was born Feb. 7, 1911, in Ralston, Iowa, a son of Floyd and Mamie Sexton Paup. On May 28, 1934, in Boone, Iowa, he married Helen Schell who died Feb. 21, 2000. Mr. Paup worked for the Works Progress Administration during the Depression. He moved to Klamath Falls in 1937, where he worked for Pelican Bay Lumber Co. In 1946, he moved to Medford, where he worked at Elk Lumber Co., which later became Boise Cascade Co. He retired in 1976 and moved to Roseburg eight years later. He moved to Eugene in 1998. He was an avid New York Yankee and Portland Trail Blazer fan. He enjoyed traveling and socializing. Survivors include two daughters, Marylyn, Bend, and Judith, Milford, Conn.; two sons, Richard, Portland, and Michael, Eugene; two sisters, Evelyn, Klamath Falls and Kathryn, Roseburg; a brother, Lowell, Roseburg; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements: England's Eugene Memorial Chapel. — Helen Paup — Helen Cathrine Paup, 86, of Eugene, formerly of Medford, died Feb. 21, 2000, of age-related causes. A celebration of life was held. She was born July 18, 1913, on a family farm in Des Moines Township, Iowa, a daughter of Frank and Frieda (Lampe) Schell. On May 28, 1934, in Boone, Iowa, she married Edgar Paup, who died Feb. 5, 2000. She lived in Roseburg, Medford and Klamath Falls before moving to Eugene in 1998. Mrs. Paup enjoyed traveling, small animals and cooking. Survivors include two daughters, Marylyn, Bend, and Judith, Milford, Conn; two sons, Richard, Portland, and Michael, Eugene; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson. Arrangements: England's Eugene Memorial Chapel. — Gerald Thomas Zinn — The memorial service for Gerald Thomas Zinn will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, Calif. Mr. Zinn, 61, of Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Grants Pass, died Saturday (March 4, 2000) at his home after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born June 24, 1938, in Fresno, Calif., a son of Thomas and Velma L. (Pollock) Zinn. Mr. Zinn was the owner and operator of Gerald T. Zinn Trucking of Bakersfield, Calif., for the past 24 years. Survivors include four sons, Douglas, Everett, Wash., Richard, Lynnwood, Wash., and Brian and Gerald A., both Bakersfield, Calif.; his father, Thomas, Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Lloyd, Medford; and 10 grandchildren.
