Rural crash kills Gold Hill man A Gold Hill man died Wednesday night in a crash on Galls Creek Road, just south of Old Stage Road. Terrence Neil Clement, 72, was dead at the scene of the crash, which was reported at 10:34 p.m. Jackson County sheriff's deputies said Clement was headed north on Galls Creek Road in a 1988 Ford pickup. The truck came down a grade, crossed the oncoming lane on a curve, crossed back to its own lane, went back to the other lane again and left the road. The truck then went down a 12- to 15-foot embankment and traveled about 60 feet out. It dug a trench into the ground and stopped against a large dirt berm. Clement was not wearing a seat belt and suffered traumatic injuries from being thrown around inside the cab of the truck.
