Neely's shooting results in awards The National Rifle Association named Cadet Nicholas Neely, from Ashland High, to the All-American standard pistol first team. Neely, representing the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, was also selected to the All-American free pistol second team. He took the bronze medal in standard pistol, placed fourth in air pistol and seventh in free pistol at the national competition. Selections are based on season average scores, frequency of competition, performance in specific matches, grade-point averages, leadership and sportsmanship.
