Thomas, a redshirt freshman from Medford, ranked fourth in conference in scoring (12.6), with a career-high 20 points at Lewis & Clark. The former South Medford High standout helped the Bruins to their 10th straight winning season with a 15-10 overall record, and a fourth-place showing (10-6) in conference. Fiegi wraps up freshmanseason as All-American True freshman Eric Fiegi of Western Baptist College finished second in the Cascade Conference in scoring (21.0), rebounding (8.5) and blocked shots (1.7) in landing a first-team spot on the all-conference men’s basketball squad. For his efforts, Fiegi was also an NAIA Division II honorable mention All-American selection. Fiegi, who starred at South Medford High, was the only freshman honored among the all-conference selections. His single-season blocked shots total of 51 tied for fourth in Western Baptist history. The Warriors (10-20) finished sixth in the conference standings with an 8-10 mark. Local players highlightClass 2A all-star game Michael Fiddler of St. Mary’s and Cascade Christian’s Mychal Sha have been invited to compete in this summer’s East-West All-Star Series at Clackamas Community College. Fiddler, a two-time first-team all-state selection, and Sha, a third-team all-state pick, are set to compete at 4 p.m. June 20-21. Cascade Christian coach Brian Morse will join Oakland’s Jeff Clark in coaching the 2A East team. In the 3A games, Mazama’s Levell Hesia and Eric Brosterhous have also been selected to compete for the East squad.
