Gang and Street Drug Unit officers intended to arrest 24-year-old Justin Scott Miller when they arrived at the motel on Riverside Avenue. While making the arrest, officers found a large stash of high-end electronic equipment. The property had been stolen in burglaries of businesses in Josephine County and Rogue River, said Sgt. Phil Eastman. "We lucked into the property," Eastman said. "The owners were very happy to get it back." Among the items were a new Dell laptop computer and digital camera and an XM radio receiver. Police also were able to track down a stolen 2000 Chevy pickup that was being stored at a home on North River Road in Rogue River, Eastman said. Advertisement Miller was charged with possession of methamphetamine, first-degree theft, identity theft and possession of a forged instrument. He also was held on outstanding warrants. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Wednesday on $50,000 bail. The Mail Tribune previously listed his address in the 2100 block of Harrison Street, but he hasn't lived at that home in several years, said Victoria Miller, who is Justin Miller's mother. Also charged with related crimes was Bryan James Rich, 28, of Central Point. He was cited for unlawful use of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, possession of a forged instrument, identity theft and forgery.
