In the men's open division, Mortera, of Medford, took No. 4 seed Stan Cocke, of Portland, to the limit before losing. Cocke defeated Mortera, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, then downed Hao Nguyen, of Tacoma, Wash., in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-4. Only after a grueling third match did Morris defeat former Grants Pass resident Jason Wilson in the men's open quarterfinals, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. The tournament concludes today.
