Winter Bird Watching: Northwest Nature Shop and expert birder Terence Philippe will host a guided bird walk from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Ashland Pond near Nevada Street. Participants will meet at 9 a.m. at Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., Ashland. Philippe will identify birds in the habitat, and point out river otters. The event is free.
