Medford wants applicants The city of Medford seeks applicants for the following boards and commissions: Budget Committee � Three open positions. Meets in the spring to review and recommend budget appropriations to City Council. Communications Advisory Committee � Three open positions, one each from Wards 1 and 3, and an at-large member. Meets second Wednesday of each month to review comments and complaints from the public. Historic Commission � Two positions. Meets monthly to review and investigate buildings and structures with historic significance. Hospital Facilities Authority board of directors � Two positions. Generally meets once a year to act as an agent for non-profit hospitals floating tax-free bonds. Joint Transportation Subcommittee � Two positions. Meets fourth Wednesday of each month to advise council and Planning Commission on transportation policy. Parks and Recreation Commission � Three positions. Meets third Tuesday of each month to advise the council on park land acquisition and development, recreation facilities and promotion of the arts. Planning Commission � Two positions. Meets second and fourth Thursdays of each month on matters relating to zoning, growth and development. Site Plan & Architectural Commission � One position. Meets first and third Friday of each month to review architecture, landscaping, signs and other improvements to new or existing developments, buildings or structures. Transient Lodging Tax Review Committee � Three positions. Meets only when necessary to review administration and enforcement of the city�s so-called hotel-motel tax. Unified Appeal Board � Five positions. Performs duties established by the Uniform Building Code, Plumbing Code, Electrical Code and Mechanical Code. Urban Renewal Agency budget Committee � Three positions. Meets two to three times a year to review and recommend budget appropriations to urban renewal board of directors. Water Commission � One position. Meets first and third Wednesday of each month. Commission maintains, manages and operates water system. Application materials are available at the city manager�s office at City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 29. Interviews will be scheduled in January 2001.
