5 held in stabbing incident Central Point man in good condition YREKA, Calif . -- Five people have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a Central Point man in Happy Camp, Calif., earlier this week. Todd Edward Barnett, 35, was taken to Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka, where he's being treated for stab wounds. He was listed in good condition Wednesday night. Police responded to the Double J Sports & Spirits in Happy Camp around 9:45 p.m. Monday for a report of an injured man outside. Barnett was found leaning against an ice machine and bleeding, according to the Siskiyou County sheriff's department. Barnett had been traveling through Happy Camp when he had car trouble. He met several people and joined them at a neighborhood barbecue at the Big Foot Apartments. At the barbecue, Barnett and others were reportedly drinking and began to argue. Barnett was stabbed numerous times. During the fight, Barnett fell through a window at the Karuk Building Center across the street from the apartments, and then made his way down the street to Double J Sports & Spirits. Police arrested five people on charges of attempted murder: James Jacob Moehring, 19; Jesse Steven Parry, 20; Kevin Gary Stewart, 18; a 16-year-old boy; and Steve Willard Stout, 27. The first four were from Happy Camp; Stout's hometown was unavailable. A folding knife that was believed to have been used in the assault was recovered from a nearby rooftop.
