Capt. Tim Snaith said the first fire was reported at 5:32 p.m. The small blaze was seen burning in a field west of White Mountain Middle School, 550 Wilson Way. A few minutes later, there were reports of another small fire in a yard near the Boys & Girls Club down the street, according to Jackson County Fire District No. 3. Police also found graffiti all over the playground equipment. "Some pretty crude objects and messages on the playground structures," Snaith said. Fire District 3 responded to both fires with two engines, though the flames had snuffed themselves out by the time firefighters arrived on scene. No damage assessment on the graffiti was available. Detectives did not have a description of the suspects beyond the clothing they wore, information the agency declined to release for fear the suspects might ditch the articles.
