DORIAN: Hundreds of Bahamian Evacuees Forced Off Ferry to FL By Gracie Solis Sep 10, 2019 12:27 PM A A Hundreds of Evacuees with Bahamian Passports and copies of criminal records had arrived at the Freeport Harbor in an attempt to flee the hurricane ravaged island of Grand Bahama. The ferry was heading to Fort Lauderdale , Florida. After a long wait, the evacuees were told to disembark if they did not have a U.S. Visa. U.S. Customs and Border Protection say that no government entity was involved in this decision, and the evacuees would have been processed accordingly upon their arrival.
