On Aug. 12, a woman reported unknown suspects had entered her locked house on Old Stage Road in Gold Hill by pulling out a screen and climbing through a kitchen window. She reported $2,760 worth of items were stolen, including a rifle. Investigators found a cellphone that didn't belong to the victim or anyone living in the home. After obtaining a search warrant, they determined the phone belonged to Brittany Nicole Jenkins. Police said they also discovered Jenkins' fingerprint on the phone. Jenkins, 27, of the 100 block of Victoria Way in Central Point, was already in the Jackson County Jail on unrelated charges. She allegedly confessed to a Medford Police Department detective that she had taken part in the burglary, according to an affidavit. Jenkins pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree theft in the case in Jackson County Circuit Court. In other cases, Jenkins is facing a host of other charges, including six counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and manufacture of a destructive device. Jenkins remains lodged in jail on $165,000 bail. Gregory Ryan Taylor, 25, of Grants Pass, who was also already in jail on other charges, allegedly confessed to taking part in the Gold Hill burglary, as well. His fingerprints were allegedly found on a window screen, the affidavit said. In other cases, Taylor allegedly told police he has stolen approximately 50 vehicles this year in Jackson and Josephine counties. He remains jailed on $355,000 bail and faces charges that include first-degree burglary, first-degree theft, attempting to elude police both on foot and in a vehicle, second-degree criminal trespass, reckless driving, numerous counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and interfering with a police officer. He entered not guilty pleas in the cases Wednesday. Taylor allegedly fled from police Oct. 10 in a vehicle and then on foot. He was shocked with a Taser and taken into custody, according to an affidavit. Both Jenkins and Taylor have pre-trial conference hearings set for Nov. 9 in Jackson County Circuit Court.
