Since You Asked: Ducks will take new approach on uniforms Wednesday Aug 23, 2017 at 12:01 AM The Oregon Ducks have a new football coach this fall. Can fans still expect to see a new uniform combination every week? — Stan K., Medford As often is the case, with a new coach there is a new approach. One of our many University of Oregon athletic department contacts said no official pronouncement is forthcoming, but referred to comments new coach Willie Taggart made during the Pac-12 Media Day. Taggart told reporters the Ducks won’t feature a new uniform for each game, changing a trend that was established during the Chip Kelly era and accelerated under Mark Helfrich before he was fired after last season. “We’re going to be sharp,” Taggart said. “But you won’t see as many different combinations. We want to play football. Those uniforms are really nice when you have a really good football team.” Last spring, football equipment administrator Kenny Farr said the glitzy colors of the past will be eliminated in favor of more green and yellow. "We're going to try to stick to more traditional colors this year," Farr said. "Trying to kind of simplify a few things but still keep it modern and keep it looking really good." — Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
