Avista Foundation gives grants to Southern Oregon nonprofits Jan 27, 2015 12:00 AM A A Five Southern Oregon nonprofit agencies, including one in Medford, received nearly $20,000 in grants from the Avista Foundation. The funds were part of $37,500 in foundation dollars awarded to nonprofits in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. The Rogue Valley Family YMCA in Medford received $5,000, which will go toward the organization's senior and limited mobility aquatic access project. In Grants Pass, Kairos got $7,500 for its children's mental health campus, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rogue Valley in Grants Pass got $1,000 for its Project Learn, which gives homework help and mentoring assistance to students. The Klamath Falls Gospel Mission received $5,000 for its women's shelter dining hall and kitchen facilities. CASA of Douglas County Inc. in Roseburg received $1,000 for advocacy programs.
