She was born June 15, 1923 to Elmer and Laura (Fink) Dungey in Gold Hill, Ore. While still still high school, Winona went to work as a line setter for the Gold Hill newspaper. She later moved to Medford, and worked for US Bank for 42 years until she retired. As a loving daughter, she moved back to her family home in Gold Hill to assist her parents due to their failing health. Winona loved the city of Gold Hill and enjoyed walking and exploring the surrounding area, many times walking 12-15 miles before returning home.She also enjoyed spending her time working among all of her flowers. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her remaining nieces, Kim Dungey, Jill Atkinson, and Brenda Mingus; her nephew, Skip (Elmer) Marsden; and many grand-nieces and nephews. Winona was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Vern, Bill, Don, and Laura (Marsden); and nephew, Scott. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gold Hill Historical Society or Dogs for the Deaf.
