Officers raid marijuana gardens west of Selma Aug 24, 2010 12:00 AM A A Officers from several agencies today raided a series of marijuana gardens in the national forest west of Selma. The raid was by far the largest of the summer, encompassing at least seven gardens spread over more than 5 acres, officials said. Officers removed 5,000 to 10,000 plants from one of the gardens and expected to be working in the area until dusk, they said. No one was arrested today, although officials said they thought people had been at the gardens as recently as this morning. The gardens were about two air miles from the Oak Flat fire burning in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and were inside the area burned by the 2002 Biscuit fire. — Staff reports
