Why has there been no follow-up story on the Tucker Reed homicide case? — Pat Aisling Tucker Moore Reed, 27, who has blogged, reported and published young adult novels under the name Tucker Reed, does not have a trial scheduled until August, according to Jackson County Circuit Court records. Her three-day trial on charges of first-degree manslaughter and second-degree manslaughter is set for Aug. 22-24. A February trial was postponed after a new defense attorney was appointed in the case, court records show. The former Ashland High School student and daughter of two New York Times bestselling authors is accused of shooting her uncle, Shane Patrick Moore, at Moore's mother's Applegate home. Corrected Kelly Moore, Reed's mother, said Reed tried to protect her after Shane Moore began assaulting her. Shane Moore was a convicted felon with a history of drug crimes, according to court records.
