October 06. 2014 12:34PM Medford butcher tries for prize at regional meat-cutting competition A Medford butcher will try for a $20,000 national prize at a qualifying meat cutting competition today in Idaho. Kenny McComb, who cuts steaks at Texas Roadhouse, will participate at the A1 National Meat Cutting Challenge in Boise, Idaho, according to a news release. The competition starts at 1 p.m. at Grasmick Produce. Contestants will participate in timed "cut-offs" where they receive 50 pounds of meat to cut. Entrants are judged on quality, yield and speed, with the winner determined by who cuts the most high-quality steaks in the least amount of time. Entrants from Idaho, Utah, and Montana will join McComb.
