Fliers: get to the airport early Wednesday

Make sure you arrive at the airport extra early Wednesday morning if you don't want to miss your flight. One of the Transportation Safety Administration's checkpoint X-ray machines will be out of service for repairs, according to the Medford airport. The X-ray machine will be down between 3:15 and 7 a.m., according to the Jackson County Airport Authority. The airport recommends that travelers arrive a minimum of two hours prior to boarding time. To expedite the screening process, TSA staff will be at the checkpoint starting at 3:15 a.m. TSA recommends that passengers have their boarding passes ready and have uncluttered carry-on bags with electronics larger than a cell phone removed, and liquids, gels and aerosols easily accessible.
