But it’s another week and local authorities hope to have similar success with yet another wanted person. Medford Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon need help finding convicted felon Ernest Ray Stidman, born Feb. 23, 1978. Stidman was arrested and charged with third-degree assault for a domestic disturbance that occurred in Medford in early December 2003. He was indicted on Dec. 9, and a trial date was set. When Stidman failed to appear for the trial, a statewide felony warrant was issued for his arrest. Stidman also has an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on additional charges of second-degree assault and third-degree assault. Stidman’s criminal history includes previous arrests and convictions for harassment, possession of a controlled substance/methamphetamine, failure to appear, and probation violations. He also has an assault conviction in Alaska from December 2002. Ernest Stidman is described as a white male adult, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds with blue eyes and red hair. There are no known tattoos but he has a pierced left ear, a scar on his right finger and on his thigh. Stidman may be using the alias of Ernest Ray Rickard. The picture shown here, taken May 14, is the most recent image available. If you see Ernest Ray Stidman or have any information of his whereabouts, please call Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case No. MT-87. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in these cases or any unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Sonitrol of Southern Oregon.
