Marilyn Joan Dungey Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 13, 2016 at 2:00 AM Posted Mar. 13, 2016 at 2:00 AM » Social News May 20, 1930 - March 9, 2016 Marilyn Joan Dungey passed away March 9, 2016. She was born May 20, 1930 to Alice Regina Haggerty (Chapman) and Harry Hubert Chapman in Hornbrook, Calif. She was raised in Hornbrook until the age of eight. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Boarding School for 10 years in Medford, Ore. Her mother’s early death from tuberculosis, and the school’s musical curriculum, were reasons for her attendance. Marilyn married Herbert A. Dungey November 28, 1948. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in 2010. They lived in Medford, Ore. for 38 years, raising a family, and owning a small business. They later retired to Eugene, Ore. Herbert preceded Marilyn in death December 8, 2010. Marilyn and Herb were dearly loved by family and friends, and will be greatly missed. Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Mary-Pat of KeriKeri, New Zealand and Jane Ann of Colombia, South America; her sons, Christopher of Grand Junction, Colo. and Eric of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren, Lindsay of Boulder, Colo., Emily of London, UK, Cameron of KeriKeri, New Zealand, Michaela of Grand Junction, Colo., and Aurelia of Eugene, Ore. No service is planned. A family gathering will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to YMCA of Eugene or Classical Oregon KWAX.
