Edwards heads Challengers� all-stars The Cascade Christian football team topped off its season of firsts by placing seven players to the Southern Cascade League all-star first team. Senior Bryan Edwards, who helped the Challengers to the state playoffs for the first time this season, was named defensive player of the year as a lineman. Lost River�s Eric Beasley was named offensive player of the year. The Raiders placed eight players on the first team, and their coach, Dennis Dunlea, was honored as the best in the league. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Edwards was joined by seniors Nolan Roberts and Ricky Cummings on the defensive side, while Brian Prins, Joel Crosby, Jordan Ferrell and punter Stan Kelley were named to the first team on offense. Kelley also earned second-team offensive honors at quarterback and was joined by senior Ben Hefley. Teammates Rick Beard and Brandon Armstrong earned second-team defense accolades. Bill Lewis and Scott Campbell earned honorable mention on offense while Mychal Sha, Zach Mellow and Matt Hammonds represented Cascade Christian as honorable mention on defense.
