Glen Erlin Miles Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Nov. 29, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Nov. 29, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News December 10, 1931 - November 10, 2015 Glen Miles, 83, of Central Point, Ore. passed away November 10, 2015 surrounded by loved ones at Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Ore. Glen was born in Hot Springs, Idaho December 10, 1931, one of six children born to Reese and Thora Miles. Glen served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating high school. He owned a tire store in Baker City, Ore. before moving to Ashland, Ore. in 1963, where he owned Glen’s Tires for 23 years. A hard working man who was dedicated to serving his customers, he was often found working late to serve those traveling the Siskiyou Summit in inclement weather conditions. Glen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. He loved spending time with his grand-kids including never missing a basketball, soccer, volleyball game, or school activities. He was a kind and patient man and always willing to help anyone who needed an extra hand. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed working on the family home including building a playhouse on stilts for his grandchildren. In his spare time he loved reading and wood working, including making Pentomino puzzles as gifts. Glen is survived by his beloved wife, Marge Miles, of Central Point; his sons, Jeff Miles (Alice) of Ashland, Ore., Randy Miles (Suzy) of Collierville, Tenn., Steve Miles of Medford, Ore., Gary Covey of Riverbank, Calif., and Ron Covey (Betty) of Livermore, Calif.; his two daughters, Kim Kloke (Troy) of Central Point and Tami Gelbrich (Travis) of Eagle Point; his sisters, Maydene Baxter (Garth) of Wellsville, Utah, Dorothy Wooters of Baker City, Ore., Lola (Dick) Brough of Kaysville, Utah; his 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank his many doctors who were so supportive during his illness, Dr. Brian Gross, Dr. Anthony Mistretta, Dr. John Jackson, Dr. Daniel Brandenberg, and Dr. Ahmed Ahmed as well as Spectrum Orthotics of Medford. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Miles of Central Point and his two brothers, Junior and Rick Miles. Glen was laid to rest at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
