Smith , representing Sweet, Causey & Foster of Denver, bond investors, was here Saturday reviewing the situation relating to investments by his firm in the auxiliary water bond securities, $60,000 of which have been sold to that house. On Friday last, a telegram from Blythe, Witter & Co. of San Francisco, was received by the local syndicate, announcing that they had taken over the $100,000 worth of bonds allotted to investors of the exposition city, and making inquiries if more of the issue were available. The head camp, Modern Woodmen of the World, with headquarters at Denver, have taken $15,000 of the bonds, which purchase cleans up the issue.    ASHLAND, March 15 — Mountain View cemetery is to be made as beautiful a place as the name implies, it being the newest as well as the largest of the city's burial places, the premises have been rather neglected in the past, but the scope of civic improvement has of late been enlarged enough to take in this domain. The ladies having taken over the work of its permanent improvement, appearances already indicate a notable change. Volunteers were called for last Friday and Saturday, their efforts being directed along various channels. There has been some system to these efforts and order is becoming apparent out of chaos. Boundaries have been defined, avenues laid out, trees planted and various other improvement features adopted. Ladies of the various clubs of the city federation did the planning. Mrs. Lamkin being chairman, assisted by Mesdames Graham, McWilliams, Rondeau, Brown and Miss Susanne Homes, while the men performed the actual physical work with hoe, spade and shovel. Already the change in appearances is so apparent that one need not mention the name of Mountain View apologetically, as has been the case heretofore. The setting out of many of fine shade trees has been one of the major improvements.
