Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend December 23, 2005 Emergency Services Felony arrests Encouraging child sexual abuse — Craig Hugh Abernathy, 44, of the 300 block of Clay Street, Ashland. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday arrested Abernathy on 36 counts of second-degree encouraging child sexual abuse. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail and released on his own recognizance. Credit card fraud — Travis James Roehl, 21, of the 1800 block of Easy Street, Medford. Roehl appeared Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with credit card fraud and third-degree theft. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Assault — Samantha Lee Hale, 20, no known address. Shady Cove police Wednesday arrested Hale on charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, harassment, menacing and endangering a minor. She was lodged in jail, where she remained late Thursday on more than $25,000 bail. Hit and run — Harold Lee Kress, 45, of the 22900 block of Road One, Quincy, Wash. An Oregon State Police trooper Thursday arrested Kress on felony hit and run and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Thursday on $25,000 bail.
