November 07. 2014 2:00AM William C. "Bill" Backes Mar. 15, 1942 - Oct. 27, 2014 William C. "Bill" Backes, 72, passed away in his home Monday, October 27, 2014. He was surrounded by his longtime friends and family members. William, "Butch" was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Backes (Day) of 51 years and also by his siblings Beverly, Norma, Glenn, and Anita. He is survived by his daughters, Wallena Lanter, of Ariz., Sandra Drake, of Mont.; son, Robert Backes, of Central Point, Ore.; half-brothers, Gene and Jay; half-sister, Questa; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
