Film focuses on ‘Living While Dying’ Sunday Apr 22, 2018 at 2:01 AM A 45-minute documentary, “Living While Dying,” which addresses how to face the fear of death by living life to the fullest, will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Havurah Shir Hadash, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Following the screening the audience will be invited to join a discussion aimed at changing perceptions of death and dying. The filmmaker, along with end-of-life experts, will discuss the once-taboo topic with the audience. A release describes filmmaker Cathy Zheutlin working to counter the typical world view that death is something to vanquish. It shows people living with terminal illness who greet the inevitable with courage, humor, creativity and acceptance. Zheutlin’s mother, Jonnie Szold Zheutlin, now 91, a resident of Ashland for 25 years, is featured in the film, and will be in attendance for the discussion. In addition, two of the four main characters in the film were Ashland residents, Clair Killen and Alan “Rosey” Rosenberg. For more information, see livingwhiledying.org.
