He was born on a farm outside Williston, N.D. His family, which included seven children moved to eastern Montana where he was raised. Ron attended aviation school in Memphis, Tenn. while in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Moffett Field in Sunnyvale, Calif. where he worked as a mechanic on C-140 and Hercules aircraft. He then became a journeyman machinist at Westinghouse Electric. Ron loved drag racing. He set many national records in his NHRA class. He also enjoyed gold mining and loved taking his dog, Lester with him while panning. He and his wife, Rosalie also had a small claim in northern California where they dredged and camped. Ron and his family moved to southern Oregon in 1979, where he established his machine shop in Phoenix. Ron's passion as a machinist was solving unique problems for his customers. He loved his shop and was so pleased that his son, Dean would carry on his legacy in the family business. Ron leaves behind his loving wife, Rosalie; son, Dean; granddaughter, Karissa Lindvig; and five siblings, Bill and Pat Lindvig, Georgann and Alan Reel, Steven and Wanda Lindvig, Elise Lindvig, and Bob and Vicky Lindvig, and their families. A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Lindvig Machine in Phoenix, Ore.
