Duncan powers St. Mary's Prep roundup Alex Duncan had a hand in all St. Mary's scoring as the Crusaders opened their football season with a 20-0 victory over the Hidden Valley junior varsity Saturday at Spiegelberg Stadium. Duncan, a junior running back, caught touchdown passes of 33 and 50 yards from quarterback Tracy Terrall, scored on a 44-yard run and tackled a Mustang player in the end zone for a safety. "He (Duncan) made a couple of great cuts and things opened up for him," St. Mary's coach Dick Maurer said. "It all started with the line surge. The line did a great job creating a hole at the point of attack." Duncan accounted for 75 of St. Mary's 195 rushing yards. Brandon Emrick added 67 yards on six carries for the Crusaders. Terrall was 9-of-13 passing for 202 yards. The Crusaders' defense was bolstered by the performances of inside linebackers Gabe Winfrey and Chris Hurley and linemen Andy Erickson and Robert Caldwell.
