"Doc" Fry took his final breaths as his loving wife Sandra Ruth Fry held him in her arms at Rogue Valley Hospital. Born in Lone Pine, Calif., he was placed in an orphanage and was later adopted as a young boy by Fred and Nettie Fry, now deceased of Central Point, Ore. Living in the Rogue Valley he pursued a career in dentistry in Medford, and Shady Cove, where he met Sandra. They have shared over 34 years of loving adventures in work and travel through the USA. He lived by the mantra, "work hard, play hard" and was loved by his patients and community for his excellent dentistry and "old-fashioned" integrity. His "pro bono" work often led to "house calls" and for payment, pies, huckleberries, chickens, pork chops, and even three very old Maytag wringer washing machines, or a return favor down the road. His love of the outdoors, fishing, and hunting with Sandra at his side eventually led them to an 11-year pioneering adventure on a small lake in Alaska. They returned to his beloved Rogue Valley in 2008 after the tragic death of his son. He has been able to remain active and enjoy the closeness of family and friends until his recent health setback. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Rolland Martin Turner; and daughter, Dana Rene' Ament of Eagle Point; his brother, Gordon Randall Clark of Folsom, Calif.; and his sister, Helen Patricia Fogg of Burbank, Calif. He treasured his two grandson, Michael Jeffrey and Tyler James Fry, now of Gresham, Ore. His biological son, Jeffrey Fred Fry preceded him in death in 2008. Together we will all celebrate his life in love and joy as he has been lodged forever in the loving arms of his Lord. A memorial service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, September 28 2014 at the Butte Creek Baptist Church, 429 N. Royal Ave., Eagle Point, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, he would be so honored for a donation in his name to be made to Butte Creek Baptist Church, 429 N. Royal Avenue, Eagle Point, Oregon 97524.
