Creswell bumps Henley to begin state play CORVALLIS -- Luke Jackson took over in the second half, scoring 18 of his 24 points in the final two quarters as Creswell beat Henley 64-53 Tuesday in the opening round of the Oregon boys' Class 3A high school basketball tournament. Jackson added 11 rebounds and eight assists for Creswell (20-6), which jumped out to a 10-2 lead. Hornets stormed back and took a 30-27 lead into halftime. Creswell went on a 16-3 run to open the third quarter, as Jackson made crisp passes and driving layups to keep Henley at bay. The Bulldogs never let up, outscoring the Hornets 24-8 in the quarter. Michael Nunes had 10 points and nine rebounds to lead Henley (15-7), while John Stewart and Travis Boshuizen each added nine points. Creswell advances to play Sweet Home in Thursday's quarterfinals, while Henley will play Madras Wednesday in the consolation bracket.
