I assume Ginger Rogers is one, and I've heard rumors about Kevin Costner and Martha Stewart.Is there any information on celebrities who own homes around here, or have? - Ben G., Medford Gee, Ben, you mean like ever? Any celebs, or just show-biz types? Ginger Rogers owned a ranch near the Rogue River for many years,and later a place near Phoenix. There were those Tom Selleck rumors for years, but of course we don't printrumors. We hadn't heard the Costner rumors, but did hear a rumor aboutStewart - regardless, either would be unlikely to stay a secret for long. William Shatner never had propertyhere either, despite rumors. The Stewart item may stem from a stealth visit the lifestylesmaven made this summer to raft with Julie Norman of the Siskiyou Regional Education Project, (a CaveJunction-based environmental group) and eat salmon with Takelma matriarch Agnes Baker Pilgrim. Actress Kim Novak lives here (her Eagle Point home burned in2000), as do actors Bruce Campbell and Jack Elam. Kevin Hagen lives in Josephine County. Steve (Hercules)Reeves lived out in the Applegate area. Clark Gable owned property on the river but didn't live on it.Kirstie Alley and Parker Stevenson had a place in the Applegate Valley. Rocker Steve Miller owned property in the Williams area, andcountry great Rose Maddox lived near Ashland. Patrick Duffy has a place by the river. Director/producer HowardKoch had a place on the river near Duffy's. Producer Mace Neufeld had a place in the White City area. DirectorRobert Clouse (Enter the Dragon) had Ashland digs. Annette O'Toole lived in Ashland until recently. William Hurtlived there years ago. Fred Weintraub of Warner Brothers owned land in Sams Valley. Director James Ivory had a place near Lake of the Woods. ActorAnthony Heald is often back and forth.
