Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend December 21, 2005 OIT fans are getting left out Sports Letter Air ball! Air ball! It’s a chant heard when a basketball player misses the point badly ... this must apply to the paranoid coach of the Southern Oregon University Raiders. Coach Brian McDermott is so obsessed with not losing again to the Oregon Institute Technology Owls that he used his influence to limit the number of tickets made available to OIT family and fans. In years past, a few hundred tickets were sold to Owl fans. This meant that most of us would head for Ashland early in the afternoon, do a little shopping, go to a nice restaurant and have a meal, then go to the gym and watch the ballgame. By limiting the tickets to 150, it could mean that the local businesses of Ashland will not see the shoppers and diners that usually follow the Owls. — Steve Souder, Klamath Falls Mail Tribune Home  | Local News  | Sports  | Business  | Obituaries  | Life | Opinion AP News | Archives  |  Site Map  | Community  | Classified   Copyright © 1997-2005 Mail Tribune, Inc.
