Bailey, Robertson pick up a pair of wins at track meet ARCATA, Calif. - Southern Oregon's Richard Bailey and Nicole Robertson both scored double individual victories in the shot put and the discus at the Humboldt Open Invitational Saturday. Bailey produced winning performances in the shot put (45-23/4) and the discus (153-2), while Robertson's victorious throws were 41-10 in the shot put and 139-4 in the discus. The Raider men completed a sweep of the weight events with wins by Justin Bennett in the hammer throw (156-9) and Jeff Bently in the javelin (185-9). Joe Sheire had a good meet for the Raider men with a victory in the 400 hurdles and a second in the 110 hurdles. Freshman Hakeem Young of Bonanza achieved a NAIA national provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault with a career-best 15-foot effort. "We had many good performances," Southern Oregon coach Mike Jones said. "The team impresses me with their ability to compete." Wagner and Lindsey Chrisman teamed for a victory in the top doubles match. Chrisman, who hasn't lost in singles this season, was battling a sore knee so was limited to just doubles play.
