Emergency services, March 25 Sunday Mar 25, 2018 at 8:00 AM Felony arrests Burglary — Makani Hopkins, 46, no known address. Ashland police arrested Hopkins Friday on additional felony charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief, and on an additional misdemeanor count of third-degree theft. Ashland police originally arrested Hopkins Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of possessing methamphetamine. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Saturday on $25,000 bail. Burglary — Robert Jeremy Turner, 47, of the 600 block of Siskiyou Boulevard, Ashland. Ashland police arrested Turner Friday on felony charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft and on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous second-degree trespassing charge. He remained lodged in jail Saturday on $20,000 bail. Impaired Driving — Ethan Taylor Silkensen, 29, of the 13700 block of Perry Road, Central Point. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Silkensen Saturday on a felony charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, and on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, recklessly endangering and driving while suspended or revoked. He was lodged in jail Saturday on $22,500 bail. Vehicle Theft — Michael Jonathan Barrett, 43, no known address. Talent police arrested Barrett Saturday on felony charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possessing methamphetamine, and on misdemeanor charges of felon in possession of a restricted weapon and possessing less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was booked in the jail and released Saturday on his own recognizance. Assault — Ashley Nicole Smith, 26, of the 700 block of Highland Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Smith Saturday on felony charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault witnessed by a minor, and on misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment. She was lodged in jail Saturday on $115,000 bail. Aggravated Animal Abuse — Scott Raymond Elam, 29, no known address. Medford police arrested Elam Saturday on felony charges of aggravated first-degree animal abuse and fourth-degree assault, misdemeanor charges of interfering with someone making a police report, fourth-degree assault, reckless endangering and strangulation, and for violating his parole on a prior first-degree burglary conviction. He remained lodged in jail Saturday without bail. Crime reports Theft — 2300 block of Poplar Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen sneakers at 3:12 p.m. Friday. The three used pairs of Air Jordan shoes were valued at $150. Vandalism — 2200 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle at 3:56 p.m. Friday. Damage to a rear bumper was valued at $500. Theft — Center Drive and Garfield Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen power tools at 7:46 p.m. Friday. Items reported stolen included a Hilti nail gun, Yamaha generator and DeWalt chop saw. The loss was valued at $1,500. Theft — 1800 block of West Main Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen guns at 12:03 p.m. Saturday. The loss was valued at $350. Theft — 500 block of Holmes Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 2:23 p.m. Saturday. A silver and black road bike was reported stolen, and the loss was valued at $370.
