Medford police arrested Baker Wednesday on charges of possession of amphetamines and parole violation. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Wednesday night without bail. Drugs — Kenneth Strate III, 21, of the 3500 block of Avenue H, White City. Central Point police arrested Strate on charges of manufacture, possession and delivery of marijuana, manufacturing and delivering marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, and three counts of delivering a controlled substance to a minor. Drugs — James Leroy Carter, 34, of the 600 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Carter appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court Wednesday on an indictment charging possession of amphetamines, probation violation and failure to comply on previous third-degree theft charges. He was booked into jail and released. Drugs — Robert Wayne Thorpe Jr., 45, of the 900 block of West Second Street, Medford. Thorpe appeared in Circuit Court Wednesday on an indictment charging him with possession of amphetamines and driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was booked into jail and released. Fire calls Grass fire — 3000 block of Dead Indian Memorial Road, Ashland.
