The Raiders (6-3, 1-0), who captured their 13th consecutive win over an NAIA Region I foe dating back to last year and 10th straight over a league opponent, waylaid the Owls (3-5, 0-1) by accumulating 45 kills in 119 attempts for a season-best .235 offensive clip. "We played well at a place where we’d had some trouble before," Raider coach Paul Elliott said. "I think our difficult nonconference schedule got us prepared both mentally and physically, and it paid dividends tonight." SOU’s Kristin Ferris led all players with 11 kills in 28 swings without error (.393), and the senior outside hitter from Medford also racked up 13 digs. Raider junior middle blocker Nicholette Le Bel dominated the net with a season-best seven blocks, while junior defensive specialist Haley Phillips posted match-bests with 16 digs and two aces. Sophomore setter Melissa Beard fueled the SOU onslaught with 28 assists. OIT received eight-kill efforts from Jen Cueto and Michelle Klaja but the 30-kill Owl output was mitigated by 23 attack errors.
