Grand jury returns a murder indictment in Stop 'N Go shooting Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Nov. 5, 2015 at 6:17 PM Posted Nov. 5, 2015 at 6:17 PM » Social News A Jackson County grand jury has indicted Robert Kahlil Davies-Calhoun on a murder charge in the shooting death of Douglas Mitchell Spaur. Davies-Calhoun, 29, is accused of shooting 53-year-old Spaur around 9:30 a.m. Monday as he sat in his pickup in front of the Stop 'N Go convenience store at 6079 Table Rock Road near Central Point. Surveillance footage shows Davies-Calhoun loitering around the store for half an hour before he approached Spaur's truck and fired several shots. Officers found him a short time later walking on nearby Gibbon Road. The grand jury heard from three witnesses, including Jackson County sheriff's Detective Eric Henderson and Deputy Donald Adams, as well as one civilian witness. The testimony of the witnesses took approximately 20 minutes, and the grand jury deliberated for less than five minutes before announcing that an indictment had been issued, the Jackson County District Attorney's Office said in a news release Thursday. Davies-Calhoun remains in the Jackson County Jail without bail. Officials said he would arraigned on the indictment later.
