Are there any new disc golf courses planned? It was great when the Bear Creek Golf Course added disc golf. With all this beautiful land and weather, we could use more disc golf courses. — Beth S., via email We checked in with the city of Medford and Jackson County, and there are no plans to add any disc golf courses at this point. Apart from the course you mentioned, Beth, there is a course on the south shore of Emigrant Lake, just past the entrance off Highway 66. There are other options in the valley, though some of the courses get poor ratings on www.dgcoursereview.com/. The website lists disc golf courses throughout the valley, though many don’t get reviews. One that seems to stand out is Frog Creek Disc Golf Course @ Shale City. To get there, get off exit 14 in Ashland, head east on Highway 66 for 0.7 miles and turn left on Dead Indian Memorial Road for 6.7 miles, turning left again at Shale City Road for 3.3 miles, where you should find the first tee. Other courses on the list are at Southern Oregon University off Wightman Street, and at the Gold Hill Sports Park. Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
