Police will be handing out tickets to drivers who don't yield the right of way to pedestrians at a northeast Medford crosswalk 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 29. The 3-hour operation will focus on the crosswalk at Highway 62 and the Biddle Road access ramp, according to a news release from Medford police. As with similar events, officers will utilize a decoy pedestrian at the location. Motorists who fail to stop and remain stopped for the pedestrian at the crosswalk will be ticketed, as will drivers who pass a vehicle that is stopped at a crosswalk. Violations carry a fine of $265, police said.
