Brown leads SOU to softball win REDDING, Calif. � Brandi Brown tossed a 2-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Southern Oregon University defeated Simpson College 9-1 in women�s softball Thursday. The six-inning victory ended by the eight-run mercy rule improved the Raiders to 5-1 on the season. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was rained out. Lisa Atchison collected a single and double and drove in three runs to spark the Raiders 10-hit attack. Erin Eastman provided a two-run single during Southern�s four-run fourth inning.
