Wilson advances to championship bout Mar 19, 2005 12:00 AM A A COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ' Medford Bulldog boxer Mike Wilson fought back from a deficit in Friday's semifinal bout to advance to the finals of the U.S. Amateur Boxing Championships. Wilson, 21, will attempt to defend his national championship tonight against Travis Kauffman, of Reading, Pa. In the semifinal match, Wilson trailed by four points against Alfred White, of Lake Charles, La., before rallying for an 18-17 decision. Bulldog boxer Troy Wohosky also earned a semifinal berth, but was out-pointed 9-1 in the final round by Gary Russell of Capitol Heights, Md., to lose 14-5.
